Knowledge begins with curiosity – this is the idea behind Academy Smart Talks event. That’s why we have brought together researchers with high school students for the second time on 22nd of April 2024 in Warsaw.

The idea was to connect representatives of two disciplines in conversation. In the form of short dialogues, scientists presented the most interesting aspects of their research and answer the questions from the audience. The audience included around hundred ambitious students from chosen high schools with advanced English program.

Meet the participants:

Monika Hejna from Poland and Navjotpal Kaur from India

Monika has joined the PAS Institute of Genetics and Animal Biotechnology, where she investigates anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and antioxidant properties of algal-based extracts in swine farming system.

Navjotpal is currently working at the PAS Institute of Philosophy and Sociology where she conducts research on men and masculinities, gender, embodiment and sociology of the environment.
