Call 1 under the PASIFIC Programme is closed!

On 30 June 2021, there was a deadline for submitting applications in the PASIFIC Call 1. Now independent evaluators will select 35 excellent researchers, who will be expected to come to Poland between January and March 2022. The results will be announced within the next six months.  

Those, who did not manage to apply in Call 1, will have the opportunity to apply in the PASIFIC Call 2 that will be open from 15 September to 30 December 2021. Researchers who were not accepted as PASIFIC Fellows in Call 1 can re-apply in Call 2.

In the PASIFIC Call 1, we received 348 proposals from researchers of 60 nationalities. Most of the proposals are in the discipline of Physical Engineering (147 proposals). There are 109 applications in Humanities and Social Sciences and 92 applications in Life Sciences.   

The majority of candidates chose the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology (27 proposals) as their Host Institute at the Polish Academy of Sciences. Numerous researchers would also like to pursue their research at, among others, the Institute of Physical Chemistry (22 proposals), Franciszek Górski Institute of Plant Physiology (14 proposals), as well as Mineral and Energy Economy Research Institute and Tadeusz Manteuffel Institute of History (13 proposals for both). 

 

PASIFIC Fellows will receive a monthly salary of approx. EUR 2500 net. Those who decide to come to Poland with their families will be entitled to a family allowance. In addition, researchers will have a research budget of up to EUR 60 000 for direct costs at their disposal.  

To apply for the PASIFIC Postdoctoral Fellowships, candidates must have at least a PhD degree or at least 4 years of equivalent full-time research experience. They must also comply with the MSCA mobility rule and not conduct their main activities (living, working, or studying) in Poland for more than 12 months during the three years before the Call deadline.
