PASIFIC Fellows & Families networking in the Royal Lazienki Park

Networking with families in the Royal Lazienki Park

Hard to believe, but it was the last networking meeting with PASIFIC Fellows & Families and PASIFIC Team.

On Tuesday 11 June, we explored the Royal Lazienki Park in Warsaw together.

During a visit to the Old Orangery, we got to know the most important works from the collection of sculptures by Stanislaw August. In the workshop of the Royal Foundry we had a chance to try our hand at plaster casting. We also visited the Royal Theatre, one of the few original 18th century court theatres in Europe.

During the guided walk, everyone could discover beautiful flowers, unusual shrubs and large trees of the Royal Lazienki Park. For a while, the participants tried to be royal botanists and distinguish different types of plants in the Park. Peacocks and mysterious giant fish enhanced the Royal Park atmosphere. The walk ended at the magnificent Palace on the Isle, where we admired the works of art collected there.

We ended the meeting with dinner at the Belvedere Restaurant with Professor Pawel Rowinski. Conversations continued late and it was difficult to say goodbye.  It was a memorable day spent in a beautiful place and in the company of – dare we say it – not only PASIFIC Fellows & Families but also PASIFIC Friends.  We will miss it!
